Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.

For the purpose of the new GDPR the data controller is Disc Security Scotland Ltd of 9A Boclair Road, Bearsden Glasgow G61 2AD.  We are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal information about you.

    INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT FROM YOU
  • We collect your personal data because it is necessary for us to enter into a Contract with you or contact you by email, post or telephone with information on our services you have asked for such as quotations or for billing purposes.
  • We may collect, store and use your name, address and telephone numbers and personal email addresses.

  • HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA
  • We may use your information in the following ways:
  • To carry out our obligations within the terms of Contract/Agreement you have entered into with us.
  • To provide you with the information on the products or services you have requested from us and consented to us contacting you about.
  • Where we need to comply with legal obligation.
  • We may contact you by email, telephone or text to arrange service visits, issue invoices (if you are an existing customer) and have given us prior consent to contact you by such means.
  • We will not sell your information on to third parties.
  • You can contact us at any time to stop any unwanted marketing emails.
  • We will only use your personal data for the purposes for which we collected it.

  • DISCLOSING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
  • We will not disclose your personal information to any third party unless we are legally cmplied to do so.  For example: 
  • HMRC
  • LAWYERS, DEBT COLLECTORS, INSURERS
  • Should we sell our business, buy a business, enter into a joint venture with, or merge with, another business, we may then share your personal details with our new business partners or owners.
  • EMCS (East Midlands Central Station) for our customers who have entered into a Contract with 24hr alarm monitoring.  The monitoring station is required to contact you within the terms of the Contract.
  • Police Scotland, for our customers wishing to have their monitored alarm receive police response.
  • SSAIB, to comply with their rules and standards for us to continue to receive our accreditation.
  • Our customers should visit www.SSAIB.org to view their privacy notice and understand the personal information they store and use.

  • COOKIES
  • Cookies are text files, placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. This information is used to track your use of a website and to compile statistical reports on website activity.
  • Most browsers allow you to reject all cookies, whilst some browsers allow you to reject just third-party cookies. For example, in Internet Explorer, you can refuse all cookies by clicking “Tools”, “Internet Options”, “Privacy”, and selecting “Block all cookies” using the sliding selector.   Blocking all cookies will, however, have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites.

  • WHERE WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION
  • We will take necessary steps & precautions to ensure that your data is treated securely to prevent loss and misuse of your personal information. We cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. The transmission of information via the internet is not always completely secure.
  • We store all of your personal details on a secure server within the European Economic Area.
  • We will notify you of any suspected security breach.

  • HOW LONG WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
  • We only keep your personal details for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements such as HMRC.

  • YOUR RIGHTS
  • You may ask us not to process your personal information for marketing purposes.
  • You may request access to your personal information (commonly known as a "data subject access request") we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.
  • You may request correction of the personal information that we hold about you, such as changing your email, address or telephone number or if you wish to amend the way we contact you.
  • If the Contract you entered into with us has terminated, you can ask us to delete or remove personal information where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it, providing this is information we are not legally required to hold for HMRC purposes.
